by Deanna A | Jul 5, 2020 | If you could start a country from scratch, what would it be like?
“I would like to start off this country with observing the land, it’s rhythms, cycles, seasons, patterns, weather, animals, plants, waters, etc. Each person would be encouraged to do so, to sit and observe, to see what they see. The country would run by a ‘take what you need’ vs masculine ‘take what you want’ idea. Children would not go to school to simply sit in classrooms all day long, they would be taught through ways of many different people, in different skillsets and application of creative thinking, they would connect with elders to learn how to sustain the land and the community that they live upon. I think it all starts with children, and so starting them off to trust their intuition, to teach them beyond sex, to care for the land and their bodies, to encourage them to develop uniquely would create a group of people who are self empowered and without every psychological ailment in the book. There are many more aspects to talk about, but this is the one I want to bring to the forefront for now.”

“Unable to cope with the infinite possibilities, I would immediately set to work, building a new set of laws or seeking some other way to limit myself.”

“I know people will hate me for saying this, but if everyone went vegan, it would reduce a lot of air/water pollution, cut methane emissions that are contributing to global warming, and allow us to make MUCH better use of arable farming land & fresh water. Meat production is pretty wasteful and polluting per calorie of food it provides.”

“Empathy and self-awareness. I think the main problem we have is that the large majority of the people on this planet do not introspect. They do not look at the actions they commit and how they can affect others. There are many examples regarding people who say they believe in this or that but their actions imply otherwise. Being more self-aware would help change this and I think it would make people more empathetic.”
