“Love is the glue that makes separate entities one. Maya, the creative aspect of Brahman, is the creator of diversity and individuality. This is the nature of everything that is created. Maya’s ability to create differences is unimaginable unless you deeply contemplate it. Those who believe what they see objectively will forever be hunting for the common principle. It will make us run helter skelter to look for happiness…. Such is the magic of Maya. Such is the bane of Maya.
Look at 7 billion people on the planet. Every retina is unique and so is every fingerprint. Every leaf in a tree is different. Every planet is different. Every sun is different; every Galaxy is different. There is nothing in the universe like our earth, though there may be other kinds of Earths. The diversity – what purpose does it serve? Is its main purpose to hide what is behind? The more the diversity the more the senses go out trying to find answers.
The question is … Are all these things really separate entities each doing their own thing? Each fighting to live? The underlying reality is that each so-called separate entity has a role and all are somehow linked together; the human, the tree, the mountains, rivers, oceans, the animals, birds, rats and snakes. Like the dark matter in the universe, which hold galaxies together, something seems to hold everything together with a common goal. That glue is LOVE; the karma is GIVING. Without love, the relationship cannot be established in this diversity of Maya. Without love, everything seems so entirely separate that linking all of them is impossible. With this glue of love, we begin to realise that each is unique but has a role in the universe. Interdependency is a hint given by Maya to understand and love the other and their relationship to us and seeing them as a part of us. The glue called love makes this possible without judgement of the other. It is an orchestra at the sub-atomic and cosmic planes. Nothing is independent of another. This love is expressed through giving. A man’s life is well lived when he gives much more than what he has received. So love translates into ‘giving’, making the universe exist.. For such a being the diversity of Maya disappears, the differences all merge into one, which reveals the other face of Maya which is Brahman. Such a being we call enlightened or jeevan mukhta… The one who is free from the dependency on maya. The one who has broken through the veil of temporary to permanent. For such a person, heaven is here and love is his nature and giving is the most natural act of gratefulness.
So love is the glue.”
