How will history describe the year 2020?

“More than anything, 2020 will be remembered as the year that ‘truth’ died. The pandemic, the social unrest, and the exacerbating climate are all sub-categories under the president and his wave of cult-like supporters in this country. With everything that has happened, the overarching theme is that ‘truth’ has been dampened and softened. It is no longer sacred.

Trump has normalized certain tactics to simply discredit truth, on no basis whatsoever, except for pure opinion. With enough support, this tactic works. There is no third-party “god” up there to pick who and what is right, so we are left talking to a wall and trying to move forward against a current of constant backlash. As previous dictators have done, Trump has illuminated a mechanical way of subduing truth that is now accessible to anyone who chooses to use it. This is the new normal, and we are well en route to the end of humankind as we know it.”
